Yogurt is good for gum health |  | |

| The Journal of Periodontology reports that a Japanese team found that eating yogurt and lactic acid drinks was associated with better periodontal health. The effect was not seen with milk and cheese. Dr Shimazaki said, "The beneficial effect on periodontal disease might be based on the probiotic effect of lactobaccilli found in lactic acid foods. |
