Bad gums can lead to diabetes for pregnant mums  |

Findings published in the Journal of Dental Research April 2008 show the importance of maintaining good oral health during pregnancy. An NYU dental research team has dicovered evidence that pregnant women with periodontal disease are more likely to develop gestational diabetes mellius than pregnent women with healthy gums.
