1. Friendliness
There’s no grumpy receptionists, uncommunicative dentists or brusque nurses here. We know you have a choice to go elsewhere and we want you to know that we really do value your business. Our motto is “Treat everyone as you would treat your best friend”.

2. Atmosphere
Forget hard, old chairs from the car boot sale, forget ancient, dog-eared magazines and an atmosphere that the Adams Family would feel at home in. W e have created a reception area that is designed to help you to relax – we have a wide choice of music, TV, DVDs, lots of current magazines and daily newspapers, complementary teas and coffee, chilled water, comfortable seats and a play area which parents often have to drag their children away from.
For your comfort we provide toothbrushes pre loaded with toothpaste for you to freshen up before you see the dentist. For some reason kids love brushing their teeth here – perhaps because the dentist will give them a pat on the back and a sticker for having super clean teeth. After your treatment refreshing hot towels are available. You can even watch a DVD on special goggles while you are having your treatment or simply listen to music

3. Gentleness
The most common comment from people we meet who haven’t been to our practice yet is “I hate the dentist – I had a horrible experience when I was younger”. Frankly that makes us very sad. Going to the dentist should not be scary. We constantly check that you are comfortable and give you plenty of chance to let us know if otherwise. A recent random survey of 100 people showed that no one experienced any undue discomfort while they were having treatment. Even before we numb you up we treat your gum with a pre- anaesthetic which numbs up the gum in advance of the full anaesthetic effect.

4. Trust
Dentistry is not a commodity. We understand that you are looking for a long term relationship to ensure your oral health for life. We have been here since 1987 at Belmont Terrace. Between us and our sister site at Broad Walk we have over 10,000 patients in a local population of 22,000. Some people are third generation patients. It feels good to have been part of the community for so long and we are not about to do anything to jeopardise our good reputation. We are highly qualified but we do not rest on our laurels.
Each dentist does at least 50 hours additional training every year. Our nurses and support staff are trained to NVQ Level 3, have The National Certificate in Dental Nursing and are registered with the General Dental Council or are on an approved training pathway. In the last year we have had additional training in cross infection control, emergency life support, radiology and customer service. We are all dedicated to caring for you with the highest quality service. We have been awarded the Investors in People Award and are the only practice in this area to be awarded the British Dental Association Good Practice Award. In addition we are monitored by Denplan and the Primary Care Trust for Derbyshire.

5. Respect For Your Time
We make extreme efforts to see you promptly at your reserved appointment time and complete your treatment in as few visits as possible. We give you plenty of time to ask questions and we will take the time to explain your treatment and why you need it.
6. We Are On Hand For Most Of Your Dental Needs
You can have most treatments here on site. If appropriate we will work with a specialist off site to provide you with implants, complicated orthodontics, extensive periodontal care and oral surgery. Your routine aftercare will still be with us and we will be here to support you if you have any problems.
